【Radiohead】
・1985年に結成された、イギリスのロックバンド。ロックバンドとはいえ、さまざまなジャンルと楽器を取り入れ、新作の都度、全く新しい音楽の創作に挑戦し続けているグループ。
・1992年、EP『Drill』でメジャーデビュー。
・1997年、3rdアルバム『OK Computer』で世界的なブレイクを果たす。
・2000年、4thアルバム『Kid A』でUK・USともに1位を獲得。
・2001年、5thアルバム『Amnesiac』でUK1位、US2位を獲得。
・2003年、6thアルバム『Hail to the Thief』をリリース。
【Hail to the Thief】
当初、タイトルはデモCDと曲のタイトルをとって「The Gloaming」になる予定だったが、最終的には2000年のアメリカ合衆国大統領選挙における一連の投票結果争訟の後、アル・ゴア支持者達がジョージ・W・ブッシュを「ブッシュが選挙結果を操作した（ゴアの票を盗んだ）」と批判する目的で用いたフレーズである『Hail to the Thief（泥棒万歳）』を採用した。なお、このフレーズは、アメリカ大統領のための賛歌 『Hail to the Chief（大統領万歳）』 のもじりである。
パッと聴き、世にいうロックとは異なる精神世界を表現しているかのような独特のサウンドである。
クレジットから使用楽器を読み解くと、ピアノ、ギター、ベース、ドラム、パーカッションの他、シンセサイザー、laptop（恐らくノートパソコン？）といった電子サウンド、対照的にグロッケンやおもちゃのピアノといった変わった楽器も使われている。
これらの楽器を使用して表現されたサウンドの根底にあるのは、メンバーの「怒り」の感情が強く関わっているようである。
・2 + 2 = 5
題名はジョージ・オーウェルのディストピア小説『1984年』からの引用。『1984年』は、反全体主義、反共産主義、反集産主義のバイブル。
「2 + 2 = 5」は、あからさまなグローバリズム資本主義/第三世界軽視への反発ソングである。
ちなみに「2 + 2 = 5」の意味が日本人にはいまいちピンとこないが、「（権威のある者が）黒といえば、白も黒となる」といったようなニュアンスと思われる。
・We Suck Young Blood.
中盤にアップテンポに移行する部分があるが、全体的にはバンドのレパートリーの中でもかなりBPMが遅くスローなナンバー。若者を洗脳し戦争に送り出す政府の事を歌った曲であり、中間のアップテンポが激しくなる部分は、戦場に突っ込んでいく兵隊を現しているらしい。ライブではアンコールでも演奏され、盛大に手拍子を取らせる事で盛り上げに一役買った。
・I Will.
レディオヘッドのレパートリーの中では最も短い曲。歌詞の内容は罪のない女性や子供への悲劇をモチーフに歌っており、「自分がこれまで書いた曲の中で一番静かな怒りに満ちている曲」（MM誌/トム）だとしている。
・A Punchup at a Wedding.
歌詞は(オーディエンスを「学生の集まり」と扱き下ろした)英誌のレディオヘッドのライブレビューを読んだトムの怒りに起因する。
